Before you say, there are already a million posts about this.. I have red all of them already, but it doesn’t give a solution for me unfortunatly. I also tried to download the Ntune drivers.. So what are you saying, my xps is not capable, as it doesn’t agree to the rules of performance? I went through the same headache and finally resolved the issue.
Even three different Dell tech support persons did not now how to resolve this issue because XPS is new and most techs are still learning. I had to restore Windows system back to day 1 when the machine arrived. I chose User Profile instead of System Profile, you can also create a brand new profile. To turn on the lights you have to “activate” the profile using the available conditions via Profile settings.
Some conditions are:. When I did the update on the nvidia stuff via dell download I didn’t have the performance either. I thought maybe it didn’t download cause I got a black screen when it was done or when I thought it was done. So I re-booted the comp and clicked the file again. That brought up the license page for the performance program.
Now its fine. Well almost fine sys temp still reads c. I haven’t even messed with the lights because of all the fan prob’s ppl seem to be having after they try to change them and well for me the lights aren’t a biggie although I’d like to see one change say if my vid card gets hot etc. I tried the system restore, to a few early points after that.
But every time the computer rebooted, it stated can’t restore, and everything back to the way it was. I’m getting the feeling that Dell is not really putting its best efforts in this matter, even though they promote this feature when u want to buy a XPS Oh one more thing..
I only got black screens when i entered windows and could only remove it by going to savemode. Still no luck i’m afraid.. Anyone with an other solution then already discribed? Perhaps a Dell worker? Anyway, a tweakerstopic regarding the problem also here. Hope someone knows what to do.. Has a fix been found? I just got my i today, and when i first started using it i did have the chassis icon under device settings in the performance tab I must say, the drivers that Nvidia profides are way better and work perfect for me.
Somehow the Dell drivers mess everything up.. I’ll stick to the real drivers. So anoying watching a movie with that amount of light in the room. Browse Community. Turn on suggestions. Xencupio 2 Bronze. XPS i Light control. Hey, I just got my XPS and so far it all looks fine. One thing i still can’t get to work is the adjusting of the lights.
