I have followed all the instructions for downloading the most recent drivers from the ATI website both using CCC and just the driver itself , I have uninstalled the problem drivers on each attempt and run DriverSweep in safe mode to ensure total removal of all artifacts.
Device manager shows the card correctly identified but with the ubiquitous exclamation mark. It tells me; “Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source.
I have donethis by both pointing at the drivers downloaded as well as letting it search the internet. So, everytime I start the system, I get a message on the desktop saying that either no ATI driver is installed or that it may be the wrong version for my hardware. I have searched around the net a bit to find a solution and all I find is lots of people with similar issues bu tno fixes. The card seems to be particularly troublesome! Ideas anyone? Have you tried and older version?
Where are you getting the driver from? And, is the driver working? How are your resolutions, refresh rates, etc.? Caliban , Aug 24, Installed the driver with UAC off. No difference. Can’t find an older version of Driver that is W7 64 Bit. What was the old Video Card? If it was nVidia you may want to ensure all traces have been removed. If the driver is “corrupted” in anyway uninstalling using this method will allow an update.
Recently fixed an Audio Driver on an old ladies PC this way because the new driver just would not install, Windows already has “latest driver”. Bold Eagle , Aug 27, Net, so install the latest. DavidGP , Aug 27, You may want to assess your BIOS settings. What is your motherboard and do you have the latest “chipset drivers”? DirectX updates? Bold Eagle , Sep 1, Hi Win 7 has latest DX11 anyways, it may in some cases for some games need DX9 but that shouldnt cause the driver issue.
Have you been tweaking any services or settings on this PC as I’ve not had any issues like yours with Win7 x64 and Ati drivers. Try installing the drivers in safe mode. Does the PC work ok, with these drivers installed, any graphical issues with games or the Windows GUI, as in the beta of Windows 7 this message would popup alot and still does with some nVidia drivers, its just due to them not being WHQL signed drivers and just ignoring the message allows the driver to install.
DavidGP , Sep 1, Since this issue seems to be about the digital signature of the driver, I disabled W7’s function that requires authentication of digital signatures for them to be used by the system. This is an option found in the advanced startup menu, reached by F8’ing during windows startup.
The only trouble is that this setting must be changed for each startup, but thats better than not having the card work at all. Of course this then applies to all other non correctly signed drivers, so there is that caution Maybe ATI will release a correctly signed driver sometime I appreciate everyones help! Programs like EasyBCD have an option to “allow installation of unsigned drivers on bit systems” Not sure exactly how it does it, but you might want to take a look.
Awesome to note you have “found a workaround”, but this shouldn’t be necessary. You have switched off that awful “Windows Installation Manager” can’t think of the specific name but the app. Bold Eagle , Sep 17, You must log in or sign up to reply here. Show Ignored Content.
